Hey! My name is Cassie Radcliffe, I'm a double in International Studies and Communication with a Minor in Leadership! I am originally from Gainesville, Fl but moved to Durham, NC my freshman year of high school! This will be my second year as a Seahawk link and I couldn't be more excited!!! Along with being a Seahawk Link, I am the incoming VP of Community Service for the Residence Hall Association (RHA- a governing body for all on campus residence halls), I am the Publicity Chair for the UNCW Crew Sports Club, a member of the Deans Advisory Council, an office assistant in the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement, a tour guide for the Seahawk Admissions Network for Diversity (SAND) and I will be serving as Logistics Chair for the South Atlantic Affiliation of College and University Residence Halls 2015 (SAACURH) which is the eastern regional conference that is being held on our beautiful campus this coming October!
My advice to you as a freshman is to get as involved as possible (not so shameless plug if you live on campus get involved with Area Chapter!!!!), my involvement on campus has really made my experience at UNCW what it is and is the reason I LOVE this school. I know it may seem like I do a lot but school always comes first! No matter how involved you are, we go to college for a reason and that to get an education! (However, having fun is another big reason!) My personal favorite place to study is at PCJ. Me and my coffee are nice and close -I don't know if you can tell or not from the website background but I love coffee- it's also in an environment that I can either put my headphones on and get stuff done or socialize while I study. On the first day of classes my goal is to create for you a "UNCW Bucket-list: Must do's before you graduate", it will include things like beach blast, the involvement carnival, and my all time favorite UNCW tradition- OOZEBALL!! and so much more! I know it can be intimidating to come to college, meet new people, have lots of classes, etc, but remember college is what you make of it. It can be anything you want it to be and so much more! It's a new chapter of your life and I'm sure it'll be a great one. You will have so much support from me, your RA (if you live on campus), your teachers, and people all around you on campus. Throughout the year I will be here for you for support, guidance, and to be a role model. |
